Area Sales Manager Modern Trade

Role & responsibilities

Manage and develop business across key modern trade accounts.
Handle a portfolio of regional and standalone supermarkets, ensuring consistent growth and high service levels.
Build strategic partnerships with buyers and category heads to drive sales volume and in-store visibility.
Execute trade marketing and promotional strategies aligned with brand objectives.
Monitor sales performance, conduct ROI analysis, and optimize trade investments.
Lead negotiations for annual contracts, promotions, and visibility drives across accounts.
Ensure flawless execution of planograms, stock availability, and merchandising across all outlets.
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, finance, and commercial teams to ensure alignment and timely deliveries.

Preferred candidate profile

5-10 years of experience in Modern Trade sales with exposure to both chain retailers and standalone supermarkets.
Prior experience managing key accounts like Reliance, D-Mart etc.
Proven ability to drive revenue growth and manage account profitability.
Strong understanding of retail operations, trade terms, and in-store execution.
Analytical mindset with expertise in ROI calculation and performance tracking.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
High energy, entrepreneurial attitude, and result-oriented approach.
