Job Description

Role Overview: As a Sales Manager at Colgate-Palmolive, your primary responsibility will be to manage the execution of sales, distribution, and promotions in a designated area, with the aim of achieving branch objectives for the area. You will play a crucial role in meeting sales, distribution, and promotion goals in the district through close supervision, training, and mentoring a team of CDOs (Customer Development Officers) while fostering collaborative working relationships with stockists. Key Responsibilities: - Distribution management: - Manage stockist relationships and provide recommendations for improving return on investment, infrastructure, and coverage. - Ensure availability of optimum stocks at stockist point through VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) or standard order booking. - Trade management: - Identify new markets/accounts and bring them under direct coverage regularly. - Add specialty wholesalers to expand reach. - Classify stores in route list according to accurate RE (Retail Execution). - Optimize activations to drive sales. - In-store Management: - Coordinate with local in-store team to develop effective POP (Point of Purchase) solutions. - Drive conversions in the wholesale channel for better ICRE (In-Store Conversion Rate) conversions. - Implement various transparencies inside stores through compliance to T&C (Terms and Conditions). - Market Insights: - Gather competitive information regarding new products, activities, schemes, and other developments. - Data-Based Working and Communication: - Analyze market share and brand-wise performance in the area. - Manage key performance metrics like growth in focus brands. - Utilize data to drive overall business performance. - Development and Training: - Ensure CDOs in the team are well trained through classroom and on-the-job training. - Utilize PM&D tools for driving performance. - Meetings and Reporting: - Conduct regular meetings with CDOs and PSRs ( ). - Compile reports and information as per requirements communicated by RM (Regional Manager). - Relationship Building: - Maintain trust and understanding with stockists and trade partners. - Collaborate with key wholesalers to drive business growth and resolve issues effectively. Qualifications Required: - Experience: - Minimum 2+ years of experience in FMCG companies in a managerial role within a similar market environment. - Professional Qualifications & Training: - Essential: Post-graduate in Business Administration.
