We are looking for a high-impact Architect to join Fam s engineering leadership team. In this role, you will define and drive the long-term technical architecture across our product and platform domains. you'll work closely with founders, product, and engineering leaders to align systems design with business strategy, enabling sustainable, scalable growth of our platform. You won t just build systems you'll shape the technical vision and decision-making culture across the org. we're looking for someone with 10+ years of experience, who brings deep engineering expertise, has scaled high-growth systems, and can operate as a force multiplier across multiple teams. On the Job Define and evolve Fam s long-term technical architecture across backend, platform, infrastructure, security, and data domains. Partner with Engineering Leads, Senior Engineers, and Product stakeholders to translate business goals into scalable and secure systems. Own architectural decisions for large-scale initiatives: infrastructure modernisation, platform evolution, system re-designs, org-wide migrations. Drive architectural standards, governance models, and reusable frameworks that improve developer velocity and system consistency. Evaluate trade-offs across performance, reliability, security, and cost; ensure tech choices are future-proof and org-aligned. Act as a thought leader and mentor growing the next generation of senior engineers and architects. Collaborate cross-functionally with security, compliance, and data teams to uphold industry-grade robustness and regulatory readiness. Constantly scan and integrate emerging technologies where relevant AI/ML infra, serverless models, edge computing, etc Act as a strong voice in build-vs-buy, re-architect-vs-refactor, and scale-vs-speed decisions at the org level. Must-haves (Min. qualifications) 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 3+ years in Staff, Principal Engineer, or Architect roles. Proven track record in scaling distributed systems, backend architecture, and platform evolution in high-growth companies. Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures (AWS/GCP), containerisation (Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code. Experience influencing and leading large-scale technical decisions across multiple product or platform teams. Strong systems thinking, with fluency in reliability, observability, security, and cross-domain integrations. Exposure to fintech or regulated industries with experience handling sensitive data and building compliant systems. Excellent collaboration and communication skills comfortable influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders alike. Good to have Experience working in early-stage or high-growth product companies at scale. Background in platform engineering, internal developer platforms, or SRE culture. Hands-on experience with scalable data infrastructure e.g., Kafka, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar. Familiarity with domain-driven design (DDD), event-driven systems, and asynchronous communication patterns. Open-source contributions, tech talks, or writing that demonstrates thought leadership.
