Application Security Engineer

As a Senior Application Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of applications by conducting regular security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and working with development teams to design secure software systems. Your key responsibilities will include: - Conducting regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities in applications - Collaborating with development teams to resolve vulnerabilities and implement robust security measures - Performing security audits and penetration testing as required Your technical skills should include proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as Java, JavaScript, C++, Python, and Ruby. Additionally, experience in API development/testing, API security, Agile practices, and familiarity with GCP, Containers, and Serverless technologies will be essential. You will also be expected to have hands-on experience with security tools like SAST, DAST, Jira, and Confluence, and integrate security incident workflows effectively. Familiarity with security technologies like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption is required. In terms of security reviews and threat modeling, your role will involve working closely with development teams to remediate vulnerabilities, conduct threat modeling, and devise strategies to mitigate potential threats. You should also be familiar with security frameworks and standards, such as OWASP and CISSP. When it comes to incident response, you will need to react quickly to security alerts, analyze issues, contain them if necessary, and protect sensitive data. Collaborating with third-party vendors on updating security rules and alerting processes will also be part of your responsibilities. Soft skills such as strong communication skills to articulate complex security concepts and problem-solving skills to analyze and resolve issues efficiently will be crucial. Being curious about new technologies and continuously acquiring knowledge will be an added advantage. Your educational background should include a Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information assurance, with a Master's degree considered a plus. Certifications like CSSLP, CASE, or SSP will be advantageous. With 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience, you are well-equipped to excel in this role and contribute effectively to the security of applications.,
