Job Description

We are seeking an Intermediate Application Developer (IAD) to join our dynamic team- The successful candidate will contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of applications using Linux shell scripting, Java, R (for analytics), and/or Python programming - The role involves working with data sourced from mainframe systems , delivered via FTP and managed on a Linux platform - Experience or familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a strong plus-

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain applications and scripts in Linux, Java, R, and Python -
Consume and manage mainframe files delivered via FTP to Linux systems-
Enhance and maintain existing applications, ensuring code quality, performance, and scalability-
Perform unit testing , system integration testing , and user acceptance testing -
Validate data integrity between test and production environments-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver robust solutions-
Participate in code reviews and support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies-
Document technical specifications, processes, and system configurations-

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field-
3+ years of experience in application development-
Proficient in Linux shell scripting and one or more of the following: Java, R, Python -
Solid understanding of data validation and transformation processes -
Experience with file transfer protocols (FTP/SFTP) and handling large data files-
Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and version control systems (e-g-, Git) -

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with or knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services-
Understanding of mainframe data formats and job scheduling tools-
Exposure to automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines -
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
