Application Database Administrator – DB2 LUWLocation : Bangalore

Total Experience

Relevant Experience

2+ Years (DB2 LUW DBA)

Mandatory Skills

Hands-on experience as DB2 LUW DBA with expertise on versions 10.1 / 11.1 / 11.5
DB2 Certification (mandatory, no exceptions)
Experience with DPF (Database Partitioning Feature) and MPP (Massively Parallel Processing)
Strong experience in database maintenance activities (e.g., runstats, reorgs)
Knowledge of DB2 backups, restores, and security aspects
Proficiency in user account management
Hands-on with stopping/starting databases and ensuring availability

Preferred Skills (Good To Have)

BFSI domain experience
Experience with customer-facing roles for query resolution
Knowledge of performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization

Roles & Responsibilities

Manage and maintain DB2 LUW environments ensuring availability, performance, and security
Perform regular maintenance activities like runstats, reorg, cleanup, and monitoring
Handle backup/recovery procedures and ensure data integrity
Manage user accounts, roles, and privileges in compliance with security policies
Provide direct support to customers by resolving database-related issues
Ensure proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of DB-related performance issues
Participate in 24x7 support rotation (including weekends per client schedule – weekdays + 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturday)
Prepare and maintain documentation of database processes, configurations, and maintenance schedules
