We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Deputy General Manager Retail - Operations to lead our apparel retail store network. This Chennai-based leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, store profitability, and seamless store execution. Key Responsibilities: Retail Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations across 10+ retail stores to ensure smooth execution, standardization, and customer service excellence. People Leadership: Lead and mentor Store Managers, and Senior Managers. Inspire sales teams to meet and exceed KPIs through structured performance management and coaching. Inventory & Replenishment: Manage stock availability and replenishment cycles. Ensure stores are optimally stocked based on customer demand and sales velocity. Store Experience & VM: Maintain strong visual merchandising standards, layout planning, and category placement to enhance store navigation and improve SPSF. Sales & Performance Analytics: Monitor daily/weekly/monthly performance of stores through key retail metrics like GMROF, conversion rate, AOV, and footfall. Leverage insights to drive informed decision-making. Customer Service & Escalations: Lead customer satisfaction initiatives. Resolve escalations with empathy and agility, ensuring a consistently high standard of service across all stores. Business Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of the annual business plan for the retail cluster. Set individual growth targets per store and strategize to achieve them. Market Intelligence: Stay updated with competitive trends, customer feedback, and shifting consumer behavior. Use this insight to future-proof operations and adapt proactively. Candidate Profile: Postgraduate in any discipline; MBA or equivalent management degree preferred 12 - 15 years of total experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a multi-store operations leadership role. Proven track record in managing clusters of 10 - 15+ stores. Strong grip on data analysis, reporting, and decision-making through analytics. Experience in apparel is mandatory.
