Announcement For the post of Project Associate

The selected candidates will primarily focus on research and development of novel graph machine learning methods applied to blockchains and large-scale data management. The project involves:

• Developing and evaluating graph-based machine learning models for real-world problems such as entity matching and data integration.
• Implementing and benchmarking graph neural networks and related algorithms using contemporary frameworks (e.g., PyTorch Geometric, DGL).
• Contributing to open-ended research questions in graph representation learning, graph algorithms, and their applications to distributed datasets.

Candidates will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge data management technologies in collaboration with academic and industry partners and will contribute significantly to ongoing research projects.

Desirable Skills:

• Prior hands-on experience with graph algorithms, network analysis, or graph machine learning.
• Experience using machine learning libraries and frameworks, particularly PyTorch Geometric or DGL.
• Familiarity with entity matching, data integration, or master data management concepts.
• Excellent programming skills (preferably Python or related languages).

The initial payment starts at Rs. 40,000 per month and depends on the experience and qualification of the candidate. Renewal of the position depends on the performance of the candidate, which will be reviewed by a committee. The candidates may be eligible and encouraged to apply for MS/PhD in the Dept. of Computer Science and Engg., IIT Madras, under project mode upon gaining sufficient experience and completion of pre-requisite coursework.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• The candidate should have a 4-year bachelors or a masters degree in computer science or related field.
• Demonstrable proficiency in programming (with experience in at least two languages, preferably including Python).
• Hands-on experience with graph algorithms and machine learning, as well as a strong interest in graph representation learning. Experience implementing models using frameworks such as PyTorch Geometric or DGL is desirable.
• The candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a willingness to engage in research on data management applications such as entity matching and data integration using graph-based methods. (Prior research experience will be beneficial but not required).
