Role & responsibilities

The selected candidates will primarily focus on System engineering, DevOps, and Blockchain infrastructure support. The role involves:

• Setting up, configuring, and maintaining Docker-based environments for blockchain infrastructure, dApps, etc.
• Writing and maintaining shell scripts and automation pipelines to streamline deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
• Contributing to research and development in infrastructure scalability, and system reliability.

The position offers candidates the opportunity to engage with modern DevOps practices, collaborate with academic and industry partners, and contribute to impactful system-level innovations in blockchain and decentralized technologies.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with container orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).
• Familiarity with system monitoring and performance optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to research-driven projects.

The initial payment starts at Rs. 40,000/- per month and depends on the experience and qualification of the candidate. Renewal of the position depends on the performance of the candidate, which will be reviewed by a committee. The candidates may be eligible to apply for MS/PhD in the Dept. of Computer Science and Engg., IIT Madras, under project mode upon gaining sufficient experience and completion of pre-requisite coursework.

Preferred candidate profile

• The candidate should have a 4-year Bachelors or a Masters degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum of 23 years of relevant industry experience in system engineering or related roles.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Linux-based operating systems and shell scripting.
• Strong foundation in operating systems, computer networking, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and containerized deployments.
• Prior exposure to blockchain technologies will be an added advantage.
