Android Architect

You will be working as an Android Architect at a company that offers a wide range of insurance products and services, including life insurance, disability income insurance, annuities, investments, and dental and vision insurance coverage. The role is based in Chennai and follows a hybrid work model where you will work from the office for 3 days and from home for 2 days. As an Android Architect, your responsibilities will include: - Managing and resolving software request tickets efficiently - Leading and contributing with over 15+ years of engineering expertise - Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications using Kotlin, Java, and Android SDKs - Ensuring compatibility across multiple Android versions and screen sizes - Leveraging the open-source Android ecosystem and third-party libraries for scalable solutions - Architecting and building Android apps from the ground up to production release on Google Play - Delivering pixel-perfect user experiences with clear information architecture and adherence to platform conventions - Applying strong knowledge of design patterns such as MVC, MVVM, functional, and reactive programming - Integrating, writing, and debugging REST APIs effectively - Collaborating with web teams to integrate HTML/JS/CSS-based apps as required - Gaining and expanding knowledge of Jetpack Compose - Evaluating and understanding cross-platform frameworks like Flutter, React Native, and Kotlin Multiplatform - Writing robust, multi-threaded, asynchronous code with a focus on performance and scalability - Debugging and optimizing applications using instrumentation and performance tuning - Collaborating effectively across multiple teams and departments - Maintaining proficiency in version control systems (Git) - Demonstrating strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills with a keen eye for detail and quality You should have at least 15 years of experience in software development, particularly in Android app development. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of design patterns, REST APIs, cross-platform frameworks, and version control systems.
