Analyst- Product Control

Role Overview: Join Barclays as an Analyst- Product Control, where you will be a part of the Product Control team. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the correctness and reporting of the balance sheet and P&L for relevant entities. This will involve month-end ledger activities, analysis of balance sheet and P&L accounts, and providing relevant inputs for various reporting and corresponding audits. At Barclays, you will not only anticipate the future but also actively participate in creating it. Key Responsibilities: - Reconciliation of daily profit and loss (P&L) figures for trading desks to ensure alignment with valued positions in the trading book, investigating and resolving discrepancies to reflect the true economic value of the trading portfolio. - Support in identifying, assessing, and mitigating trading risks, reporting on financial risks to senior colleagues. - Maintenance and analysis of the bank's trading data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency, providing insights to traders and senior colleagues on trading performance. - Preparation and submission of regulatory reports to authorities, supporting external audits, addressing auditor queries, and ensuring appropriate reflection of trading activities in financial statements. - Effective communication of complex financial information to traders, risk professionals, senior colleagues, and external stakeholders. - Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a coordinated approach to trading activities. Qualifications Required: - Finance/Accounting qualification/degree, CA preferable but not compulsory. - Good financial acumen, accounting, and reporting skills. - Ability to understand and analyze financial information, including balance sheet and P&L. - Basic knowledge of IFRS9 and Financial instruments is a plus.
