Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced AIF Cat II Fund Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting for Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) categorized under Category II. This role requires a strong understanding of fund accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for AIF Cat II funds, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to fund accounting.
Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports, including NAV calculations, investor statements, and performance reports.
Collaborate with investment teams to ensure accurate recording of transactions and timely reporting of fund performance.
Conduct regular reconciliations of cash and positions with custodians and counterparties.
Support the audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Monitor and analyze fund expenses, ensuring proper allocation and reporting.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in fund accounting.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
Minimum [X] years of experience in fund accounting, preferably with AIFs or similar investment vehicles.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements for AIFs.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with [specific software, if applicable] is a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
