Role Overview

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to identify experienced historians and political scientists to support a project focused on enriching AI systems’ understanding of historical and governmental content. Freelancers will apply advanced domain knowledge to evaluate and refine outputs related to governance systems, global conflicts, political ideologies, and cultural narratives. This short-term engagement is ideal for experts passionate about accurate historical interpretation and civic literacy in AI models.

Key Responsibilities
Review and fact-check AI-generated content on historical and political science topics
Create high-quality prompts and evaluation metrics for assessing cultural, governmental, and geopolitical themes
Annotate and revise explanations related to major historical events, governance structures, and ideologies
Provide contextual insights to support culturally accurate and temporally grounded outputs
Ideal Qualifications
Advanced degree (M.A. or Ph.D.) in History, Political Science, or a closely related field
2+ years of academic or research experience analyzing historical or governance topics
Demonstrated expertise in cultural theory, historical method, or international political systems
Excellent writing, editing, and analytical skills
