Position Title: Agriculture Officer
Department: Agriculture & Rural Development / Farm Support Services
Location: Tiruppur District, Tamil Nadu

1. Job Summary

The Agriculture Officer will support farmers and agricultural stakeholders across Tiruppur district by providing technical guidance, monitoring crop performance, promoting sustainable farming practices, and assisting in government/agricultural development programs. The role requires regular field visits within Tiruppur’s rural areas and strong collaboration with local farmers, FPOs, and government bodies.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Farmer Support & Field Extension

• Provide on-field guidance to farmers.
• Conduct field inspections to diagnose pest/disease issues and recommend solutions.
• Organize village-level training programs on modern farming practices, irrigation efficiency, and crop diversification.

B. Soil & Farm Resource Management

• Conduct soil testing and provide fertilizer recommendations based on soil profiles.
• Promote water-saving methods such as drip irrigation, rainwater harvesting, and micro-irrigation.
• Support adoption of climate-resilient agriculture practices.

3. Required Qualifications

Education

• B.Sc. Agriculture / B.Tech Agriculture Engineering / B.Sc. Horticulture.
• M.Sc. Agriculture (preferred but not mandatory).

Experience

• 0–3 years for entry-level; 3–5 years for senior roles.
• Experience working in Tamil Nadu’s agricultural sector is an advantage.

4. Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of crops grown in Tiruppur district.
• Good communication skills in Tamil and English.
• Ability to work with rural communities and farmers.
• Problem-solving and field advisory skills.
• Knowledge of farm mechanization and irrigation systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office and report preparation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Freelance

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
