We have been mandated by a large conglomerate which is into Stainless Steel Manufacturing for the below mentioned role.

Position Title :

Location: Saraikela, Jharkhand

Qualification : BE/B. Tech/Diploma -Electrical Engineering

Experience: 15+ Years

To lead, plan, and execute all electrical project activities for the DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) plant, ensuring timely completion within budget, adhering to quality and safety standards, and ensuring integration with the overall project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement detailed electrical project plans, schedules, and budgets for DRI installations.
  
• Oversee engineering design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
  

2. Design & Engineering Review

• Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, and technical specifications for DRI projects.
  
• Ensure compliance with relevant IS/IEC standards, plant requirements, and statutory guidelines.
  
• Evaluate and select appropriate electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, power/control cables, and lighting systems for DRI process.
  

3. Procurement & Vendor Management

• Prepare technical specifications and scope of work for tenders.
  
• Evaluate vendor proposals and participate in techno-commercial negotiations.
  
• Monitor vendor performance, quality, and delivery schedules.
  

4. Installation, Testing & Commissioning

• Supervise erection and installation activities for all electrical systems in the DRI plant.
  
• Ensure correct installation practices, adherence to electrical codes, and safety compliance.
  
• Lead testing and commissioning activities, ensuring system reliability and performance.
  

5. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all electrical works adhere to electrical safety norms and statutory regulations.
  
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections during project execution.
  

6. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead a team of engineers, supervisors, and contractors to meet project goals.
  
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.
  
• Liaise with mechanical, instrumentation, and operations teams for project integration.
  

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain project documentation including drawings, test reports, and approvals.
  
• Provide regular progress reports to senior management.
  
• Manage project close-out, as-built drawings, and handover to O&M team.
