11.01 Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records 11.02 Provide other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization 11.03 Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables 11.04 Ensure the accuracy of an organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing and tax purposes 11.05 Protect businesses against unintentional overpayment 11.06 Practice effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors in a timely manner 11.07 Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving signatures 11.08 Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment 11.09 Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files 11.10 Type periodic reports and other records 11.11 Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments 11.12 Check vendor files for any previous payments and assign voucher numbers 11.13 Prepare vouchers listing invoice number, date, vendor address, item description, amounts and coding per accounting policies and procedures 11.14 Reconcile bank statements 11.15 Input daily bookkeeping and record keeping 11.16 Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendor
