Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Overall Accounting & Leadership

  • End-to-end ownership of company accounting across all locations
  • Lead, guide, and supervise Senior Accounts Manager(s) and accounts team
  • Establish and enforce accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controls
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of books of accounts

Receivables, Collections & Payables

  • Review receivables ageing and monitor collection efficiency
  • Drive corrective actions on overdue and doubtful receivables
  • Review and approve payables forecasts and payment schedules
  • Optimize working capital and cash flow

Inventory, Stock & MIS Reporting

  • Review and share periodic MIS with management on:
  • Stock ageing
  • Inventory turnover
  • Slow-moving / non-moving inventory

  • Bad debts and provisions
  • Branch-wise performance reports
  • Ensure accurate valuation of inventory, WIP, and finished goods
  • Coordinate with operations, procurement, and sales teams

Import & Trade Finance Oversight

  • Review and monitor import planning and documentation
  • Oversee accounting for:
  • Imports & forex transactions
  • LC / BG / advance remittances
  • Customs duty, IGST & related compliances
  • Monitor forex exposure and coordinate with banks where required

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

  • Overall responsibility for:
  • GST, TDS, TCS, Income Tax
  • Statutory, tax & GST audits
  • ROC and other regulatory compliances (as applicable)
  • Ensure zero penalties and timely filings
  • Liaison with auditors, consultants, and authorities

MIS, Reporting & Management Support

  • Prepare and present monthly MIS and financial analysis to management
  • Highlight key risks, trends, and corrective actions
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning
  • Assist management in strategic and operational decisions

People Development & Training

  • Train and mentor accounts team on:
  • Accounting standards
  • Compliance requirements
  • ERP / system usage
  • Build a strong second line through process training and reviews
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong leadership and team-management skills
  • Deep expertise in accounting & working capital
  • Excellent knowledge of Indian statutory & tax laws
  • Strong analytical and MIS presentation skills
  • Hands-on experience with ERP / Tally / Excel
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and senior management
