Job Description (JD) for the position of Accounts Executive at Apeejay Oxford Bookstore, Park Street, Kolkata:

Position: Accounts Executive
Location: Apeejay Oxford Bookstore, Park Street, Kolkata
Experience Required: 3 to 15 years
Salary: Up to ₹25,000/month (based on experience & skillset)
Department: Accounts & Finance

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely accounting entries in Tally/ERP.
• Handle full GST compliance, including returns, reconciliations, and assessments.
• Manage TDS deductions, payments, and quarterly returns.
• Support Income Tax compliance and documentation.
• Ensure accurate filing and compliance with PF, ESIC, and ROC regulations.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Assist in GST, Income Tax, and other statutory audits as required.
• Prepare and submit timely MIS reports and financial summaries to management.
• Lead and supervise a small team of junior accounting staff.
• Conduct training and mentoring sessions to upskill team members.
• Maintain proper documentation, filing systems, and process control checks.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliances.
• Hands-on experience in PF, ESIC, ROC filings, and audit handling.
• Proficient in Tally, MS Excel, and accounting software.
• Ability to handle a team, delegate tasks, and train junior staff.
• Experience in preparing and analyzing MIS reports and audit schedules.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Accounting/Finance (B.Com or equivalent).
• Additional certification in GST, Taxation, or Tally will be an added advantage.
