Accounting Analyst - Closing & Reporting

Job Title: A2R CR Accounting Analyst

The Closing & Reporting Accountant reports to A2R Closing & Reporting Lead and works closely with Finance (Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control), other SBS departments, Customer Service and the A2R team.

Main responsibilities:

• Operation:

  Deliver GL monthly closing & reporting services to SBS, Review interfaces that generate automatic postings to ensure that they have been correctly booked, AR & AP sub-ledgers are closed and close Balance Sheet and P&L accounts. Request & collect all recurring and non recurring items, reconcile accounts and post Manual Journal Entries (MJE). Prepare management, tax, legal and statutory reporting at Group and country levels. Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis.
• Contribute to business reviews. Execute in compliance of processes, transactions and reports with Sanofi accounting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements. Develop expert level knowledge of the activities in scope as well as local knowledge of entities in scope.
• Build, document and transfer A2R Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7) relating to GL monthly closure and reporting activities.
• Identify process improvement opportunities through elimination of redundant activities.
• Participate in process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition.

About you

• Experience

  : Broad understanding of GL Accounting, monthly closure and reporting activities with ~5 years of professional experience. Understanding of IFRS and local GAAPs

• Technical skills

  : Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise of MS Excel. Desired but not mandatory: experience of SAP or any other accounting-related IT tools (e.g. Blackline)

• Soft skills

  : Team player, able to work collaboratively transversally and with A2R front line teams with an end-to-end mindset. Ability to interact with internal and external clients in a professional manner. Organized and structured to execute tasks as per deadlines. Role model / coach to junior analysts. Good communication skills, attentive to customer needs and feedback.

• Education

  : Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor or equivalent)

• Languages

  : English fluent (written and oral)

• Working Hours

  : Be responsible for the period-end closing and reporting in accordance with Sanofi month end close schedule. The associate may need to work in different working hours during the month-end closing period for 5-7 days, depending on the region they support.
