Job Description

As an Accountant at our apparel manufacturing company, your role will involve managing financial transactions, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Here are the key responsibilities you will be handling: - **Financial Reporting**: - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, etc.). - Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data and reports. - Provide financial analysis and insights to management on business performance and budget variances. - **Cost Accounting**: - Calculate and track the cost of goods sold (COGS) in the apparel manufacturing process. - Prepare and maintain cost sheets for each product or production run. - Monitor and analyze inventory, ensuring accuracy in valuation. - **Inventory Management**: - Assist in maintaining accurate records of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. - Perform periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliation with financial records. - Analyze inventory turnover and provide recommendations for control and cost reduction. - **Budgeting & Forecasting**: - Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. - Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, recommending corrective actions. - **Compliance & Auditing**: - Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies. - Prepare for and assist with audits, both internal and external. - **General Accounting**: - Process general ledger entries, reconcile bank statements, and maintain accurate records. - Maintain accounting controls and documentation per company policies. In terms of qualifications and skills, we are looking for candidates who possess: - **Education**: - Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred). - **Experience**: - 3-5 years of accounting experience in manufacturing, preferably in the apparel industry. - **Skills**: - Strong understanding of financial accounting, cost accounting, and inventory management. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling. - Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and collaboration abilities. The working conditions include office-based work with occasional site visits to the manufacturing floor and standard working hours with potential for overtime.
