Job Description

Yext is seeking an

Accountant

to join its growing and dynamic accounting team. This is a hands-on position with a mix of accounting and operational duties. This role will be responsible for assisting in the day to day transaction processing and accounting, preparing account reconciliations in connection with the close process, and performing financial analysis on an as-needed basis.This role reports directly to the Accounting Manager based in India.
This role is fully on-site in our Hyderabad, India office.

What Youll Do

  • Participate in various accounting functions including preparing reconciliations and roll forwards, account analysis and processing month end journal entries for a variety of G/L accounts.
  • Assist in reconciliations between subledgers and the general ledger.
  • Participate in General Ledger Transaction, ensuring proper recording, reconciliation, and settlement of balances.
  • Support and assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are executed according to GAAP principles
  • Analyze and reconcile large volumes of data in Excel from various internal systems and the general ledger to provide business insights
  • Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility, including preparation of audit schedules
  • Prepare schedules and reports for management and financial reporting
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to the team when requested

What You Have

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting (preferably with Big 4 background or Big 4/private mix)
  • 2+ years experience in accounting
  • Working understanding of GAAP
  • Ability and willingness to work shift hours to support the U.S. team during critical close periods, often aligning with U.S. working hours
  • Ability to execute, follow-up, and ensure attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with MS Office tools including MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Ability to manage and analyze large amounts of data
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Collaborative style with the ability to communicate clearly and precisely on technical and operational issues
  • Ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly while keeping others apprised of status with respect to deadlines
  • Excellent written and formal presentation skills
  • Prior experience working in an international business environment

Bonus Points

  • CA or working towards completing a CA
  • Tech industry experience (SAAS company) a plus
  • Familiarity with Netsuite, Coupa, Floqast, Tableau, Navan or equivalent system
