Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the end-to-end accounting, compliance, and financial reporting requirements of assigned clients. The role involves direct client handling, ensuring timely statutory compliance, coordinating with internal teams, and delivering high-quality professional services in line with the firm's standards.

1. Client Management & Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all client queries related to accounting, taxation, and compliance.
  • Understand client business processes and provide advisory support.
  • Ensure timely communication with clients regarding deliverables, deadlines, and updates.

2. Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Supervise day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting work for multiple clients.
  • Review ledgers, trial balances, and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards (Ind AS/IGAAP).

3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure timely filing of GST returns, TDS returns, PF/ESI compliance, and other statutory filings.
  • Assist in preparation of income tax computation and return filing for individuals, firms, and companies.
  • Coordinate for tax audits, GST audits, and statutory audits.

4. Audit Support & Internal Controls

  • Support statutory, internal, and tax audit processes.
  • Review client internal controls and suggest improvement areas.
  • Prepare audit schedules and liaise with auditors.

5. Team Leadership & Review

  • Guide junior accountants and article assistants on client assignments.
  • Review work completed by team members and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide training on accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).

6. MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare periodic MIS reports as required by clients.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Maintain proper documentation and workpapers for all assignments.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and taxation laws.
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP, MS Excel, and cloud-based accounting tools.
  • Excellent communication and client-handling skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving ability and a structured working approach.
  • Strong team management skills.

Qualification & Experience

  • Education:

    B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / Semi-qualified CA preferred.
  • Experience:

    37 years of experience in accounting, compliance, or audit (preferably in a CA firm).
  • Good understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and corporate compliance.
