Job Description

Key Responsibilities for General Accounting:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconcile accounts, and manage general ledger activities.
  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Generate detailed financial reports for management, auditors, and regulatory entities.
  • Ensure reports are timely, accurate, and comply with relevant accounting regulations.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring timely payment to vendors and contractors.
  • Manage accounts receivable to ensure collections and minimize overdue payments.
  • Reconcile payments, and invoices, and maintain vendor relationships.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for departments and overall business operations.
  • Monitor budget performance and analyze variances from the actual financial performance.
  • Provide insights into cost-control measures and opportunities for financial optimization.
  • Be aware of the exchange rates and their impact on the operation daily.

Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including sales tax, income tax, and payroll tax.
  • Prepare and file tax returns and manage tax documentation.
  • Support external auditors during tax and financial audits.

Internal Controls & Auditing:

  • Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent financial discrepancies and fraud.
  • Support external and internal audits, preparing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Identify areas of risk and suggest improvements to processes and policies.

Cash Management:

  • Oversee company cash flow, including managing bank accounts, cash balances, and liquidity.
  • Prepare cash management reports and forecasts.
  • Assist in managing financing and funding needs.

Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Prepare and file required regulatory reports and filings.

Stay current on changes in accounting regulations and recommend necessary adjustments

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience in an accounting role (3-5 years, depending on position).
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Team Player: Ability to collaborate within the accounting department and with other departments all over the globe.
