Academic Manager – Supplementary Programs

Location: Regional Office, Rajkot, Gujarat

About the Role

Aga Khan Education Service, India (AKESI) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Academic Manager – Supplementary Programs to lead, design, and manage after-school and supplementary education initiatives across India. The role involves strategic planning, academic leadership, capacity building, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to enhance student learning outcomes and strengthen program impact.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Develop and implement innovative academic strategies and curricula to address learning gaps and improve student performance.
  • Mentor and guide Master Trainers and tuition teachers to ensure high-quality teaching and learning standards.
  • Create and execute training programs focusing on pedagogy, conceptual learning, and effective classroom practices.
  • Collaborate with special educators and teams to support diverse learning needs.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Design tools and frameworks to measure academic impact and student progress.
  • Monitor outcomes and guide data-driven improvements in supplementary programs.

Professional Development

  • Lead teacher capacity-building initiatives and conduct regular training, workshops, and mentoring sessions.
  • Evaluate team performance and identify continuous learning needs.

Operations & Communication

  • Coordinate with Central and Regional Offices, ensuring seamless execution of academic plans.
  • Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, including internal teams, partner institutions, and local communities.
  • Support budget planning and monitor resource utilization efficiently.

Partnerships & Outreach

  • Build and strengthen partnerships with NGOs, government bodies, and educational institutions.
  • Represent AKESI in community and educational forums to promote program objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or related field.
  • 10–12 years of experience in the education sector, including:
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience.
  • 3–5 years in leadership roles (Section Head / Vice Principal / Principal).
  • 2+ years in education program management (preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and program evaluation.
  • Fluency in Gujarati preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,841,724.67 per year
