Academic Counsellor

Job Summary:The Academic Counsellor provides comprehensive academic advising to students to support their academic success, personal development, and career readiness. This role involves assisting students with course selection, understanding program requirements, developing academic plans, and addressing challenges affecting academic performance. Key Responsibilities:Provide one-on-one academic advising to undergraduate and/or graduate students. Guide students in course selection, degree planning, and understanding academic policies. Support students on academic probation or facing academic difficulties. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of advising sessions. Refer students to appropriate campus resources (e.g., tutoring, career services, mental health support). Assist with orientation programs and academic workshops. Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to ensure student success. Participate in the development and evaluation of academic advising strategies. Maintain confidentiality and comply with institutional and legal guidelines (e.g., FERPA).
