Job Description

Job Summary:

Experienced Ab Initio ETL Developer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-level ETL workflows and data integration solutions. The candidate will be responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading large-scale data using Ab Initio, ensuring data quality, performance, and reliability to support business intelligence, analytics, and operational systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows, graphs, and plans using Ab Initio
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implement data integration, cleansing, transformation, and loading processes across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Optimize Ab Initio processes for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, validation, and reconciliation between source and target systems.
  • Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of ETL processes and production issues.
  • Develop automation scripts, scheduling, and monitoring for ETL processes.
  • Document designs, processes, and best practices.
  • Stay updated with new Ab Initio features, ETL tools, and big data technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–9 years of hands-on experience in Ab Initio ETL development.
  • Strong expertise with Ab Initio components:
  • Solid knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and relational databases (Oracle, Teradata, DB2, SQL Server, etc.).
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing concepts (ETL, OLAP, star/snowflake schemas).
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux scripting and job scheduling tools (Control-M, Autosys, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and performance tuning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data migration projects.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
  • Exposure to agile/scrum methodologies.
  • Prior experience in banking and financial services is a plus.
