Job Description: 2nd Class Boiler Attendant

Position Title: 2nd Class Boiler Attendant

Department: Utilities / Maintenance

Reports To: Boiler Operator / Maintenance Supervisor / Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

The 2nd Class Boiler Attendant is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining boiler systems to ensure a continuous and efficient supply of steam for production operations. This role ensures safe boiler performance by following standard operating procedures, conducting routine inspections, and supporting preventive maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate and monitor boilers, burners, feed water systems, and related equipment to ensure efficient steam generation.

- Perform routine checks on temperature, pressure, water levels, fuel consumption, and overall boiler conditions.

- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks as per SOPs and manufacturer guidelines.

- Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing boiler issues to prevent downtime.

- Maintain accurate operational logs, pressure records, water treatment data, and maintenance reports.

- Ensure proper water treatment practices to prevent scale formation and corrosion.

- Support preventive maintenance activities and coordinate with technicians when repairs are required.

- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and emergency shutdown procedures.

- Report any abnormalities, equipment defects, or operational hazards to the supervisor.

- Ensure compliance with local boiler regulations and safety codes.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Valid 2nd Class Boiler Attendant Certificate (Mandatory).

- Minimum 1–3 years experience operating industrial boilers.

- Knowledge of boiler operations, steam systems, and water treatment principles.

- Ability to read gauges, controls, and mechanical drawings.

- Strong understanding of safety procedures and emergency response.

- Good communication and record-keeping skills.

- Physically fit and able to work shifts, including nights and weekends.

Work Environment:

- Industrial plant or factory setting.

- Shift-based work schedule.

- Exposure to heat, steam, noise, and mechanical equipment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
