Location: Remote Employment Type: Freelance / Part-time / Contract Experience Level: Mid to Senior-Level We’re looking for a YouTube Video Script Writer to join our content team and help shape engaging, informative, and narrative-driven video scripts on topics spanning technology, business, finance, and current affairs. If you live and breathe content like ColdFusion and Vox, and know how to tell compelling stories that inform and captivate, we want to hear from you. What You’ll Do: Write high-quality, long-form YouTube video scripts (18–30 minutes) tailored for a smart, curious, global audience. Collaborate directly with the founders on script direction, topic research, narrative structure, and tone. Turn complex subjects (like antitrust lawsuits, tech innovations, financial crises, or startup failures) into clear, emotionally engaging stories. Use American English fluently, with impeccable grammar and a natural understanding of pacing, flow, and voiceover style. Conduct and incorporate deep research, including data, documents, expert views, and historical context. Understand how to hook audiences in the first 30 seconds and maintain attention across the entire video. What We’re Looking For: Proven experience writing scripts for YouTube, video content, or documentaries (please include portfolio links). A strong grasp of storytelling principles and how to simplify complex ideas without dumbing them down. Background or strong interest in technology, business, economics, or finance. Native-level fluency in American English, with a knack for clean, compelling writing. Ability to match and write in the style of channels like ColdFusion, Vox, Bloomberg Originals, or Veritasium. Comfortable with deadlines and open to feedback and iteration. Bonus Points For: A regular viewer or deep familiarity with storytelling formats used by ColdFusion, Vox, or similar channels. Experience working with researchers, analysts, or in a newsroom-style environment. Understanding of SEO and YouTube algorithm dynamics (e.g., titles, retention hooks). Show more Show less
