Job Title: Manager Loads Business Unit: Adani Wind Location: Ahmedabad Reporting To: Head of Engineering Role Purpose The Manager Loads will play a pivotal role in optimizing the aerodynamic and structural performance of Adani Winds next-generation wind turbines, including the 5.2MW onshore turbine. This position is critical to ensuring the reliability, eciency, and safety of turbine designs through advanced load calculations and aeroelastic simulations. The role directly supports Adani Winds strategic goal of ramping up its manufacturing capacity to 5GW and expanding its product portfolio for diverse wind regimes globally. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed load calculations and aeroelastic simulations for wind turbine designs, ensuring compliance with IECRE - IEC 61400 standards. Collaborate with the in-house R&D team to rene turbine designs, focusing on optimizing rotor diameter and swept area for maximum energy output. ¢ Analyze wind turbine performance under varying wind speeds (3 mps to 20 mps) and environmental conditions to ensure operational eciency and reliability. ¢ Develop and validate load models for the 5.2MW turbine, incorporating advanced methodologies to enhance structural integrity and minimize fatigue. ¢ Work closely with technology partners like Wind2Energy (W2E) to integrate cutting-edge simulation tools and techniques into the design process. ¢ Provide technical expertise in the development of diverse product portfolios suitable for all wind regimes, both domestic and international. ¢ Support the ramp-up of the Mundra manufacturing facility to 5GW by ensuring load calculations align with production scalability and quality benchmarks. ¢ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including blade manufacturing and nacelle assembly units, to ensure seamless integration of load analysis into the production lifecycle. ¢ Monitor and evaluate the impact of load dynamics on turbine components, recommending design modications to enhance durability and performance. ¢ Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in aeroelastic simulation tools to continuously improve Adani Winds technological capabilities. Required Qualications & Experience ¢ Proven expertise in load calculation and aeroelastic simulation, with at least 10 years of relevant experience in wind turbine design and analysis. ¢ Hands-on experience with IECRE - IEC 61400 standards and their application in wind turbine load assessments.
¢ Demonstrated ability to work on large-scale wind energy projects, preferably with exposure to manufacturing ecosystems. Educational Background ¢ Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related eld. ¢ Advanced certications or training in aeroelastic simulation tools and methodologies are preferred. Years & Type of Experience ¢ 10+ years of experience in load calculation and aeroelastic simulation for wind turbines. ¢ Proven track record of contributing to the design and development of high-capacity wind turbines in a manufacturing or R&D setting. Domain Expertise ¢ Deep understanding of aerodynamic and structural dynamics specic to wind turbine generators. ¢ Familiarity with industry standards such as IECRE - IEC 61400 and their practical application. ¢ Experience with next-generation turbine technologies, including high-capacity models like the 5.2MW turbine. Digital & Operational Tools ¢ Prociency in aeroelastic simulation platforms such as FAST, Bladed, or similar tools. ¢ Familiarity with computational uid dynamics (CFD) software for aerodynamic analysis. ¢ Experience with digital tools for load monitoring and predictive analytics in wind turbine operations.
