WordPress Developer

About the Role:

Wits Innovation Lab is seeking a skilled and proactive WordPress Developer to join our team in Mohali. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and be capable of handling client interactions independently. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality websites, maintaining performance, and implementing new features with clean, scalable code.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins as per project requirements.
• Collaborate directly with clients for requirement gathering, updates, and feedback.
• Optimize websites for speed, performance, SEO, and mobile responsiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, technical issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining code quality and documentation.
• Work closely with UI/UX and backend teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in WordPress development.
• Strong expertise in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Hands-on experience with custom theme/plugin development.
• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, filters, and APIs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in directly dealing with clients.

Preferred / Secondary Skills:

• Experience with WooCommerce or Shopify.
• Exposure to front-end frameworks like React.js or Angular.
• Understanding of basic SEO principles and website optimization.
• Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Knowledge of Git version control and CI/CD processes.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹900,000.00 per year
