Key responsibilities Set up and prepare: Read blueprints and specifications to determine requirements. Prepare metal parts by cleaning, cutting, or grinding, and then set them up using clamps, jigs, or fixtures. Weld and assemble: Operate various welding equipment (like arc, MIG, or TIG) to fuse metal pieces together to fabricate or repair products, machinery, or structures. Inspect and test: Assess the quality of welds for flaws, defects, or compliance with standards using precision measuring instruments. Maintain equipment: Perform routine maintenance and calibration on welding equipment and tools. Ensure safety: Follow strict safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to create a safe working environment.
