Job Title: Ward Boy

Department: Nursing / Operations

Reports To: Nursing Incharge / Floor Manager

Job Summary:

The Ward Boy is responsible for assisting nursing staff, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the ward, transporting patients safely, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in the hospital ward.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist nursing staff in patient care, including lifting and transferring patients when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient rooms, wards, and surrounding areas.
• Ensure safe transportation of patients to diagnostic areas, operation theatres, and other hospital departments.
• Help in arranging medical equipment and supplies in the ward as instructed by the nursing staff.
• Dispose of biomedical and general waste as per hospital protocols.
• Provide assistance during emergency situations and follow hospital safety procedures.
• Support patients with basic needs such as drinking water, bedding, and mobility.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the concerned authority.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow hospital rules and regulations.
• Assist in shifting deceased patients respectfully to the mortuary as per hospital procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 10th Pass (Preferred).
• Prior experience as a Ward Boy or hospital attendant is an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene and patient care.
• Physically fit to perform lifting and shifting tasks.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment:

• Shift-based duty including weekends and holidays.
• May require working in ICU, OT, and Emergency wards.
