Our founders have previously started, built, and taken a company public (NASDAQ: PUBM), worth well over US$1B. We are looking to take our learnings, learn a lot along with you, and do something more exciting this time. This journey will be incredibly rewarding and incredibly difficult! We are building this company with a hybrid working approach (3 days a week in the office), with our main teams for time zone management in San Francisco Bay Area (United States) and in Pune (India). The founders are based in the Bay Area and in Bangalore. Key Responsibilities: Own and drive the technology roadmap in close partnership with Product and Founders Architect and build scalable, reliable backend systems in Java and Go Guide system architecture, drive design reviews, and ensure the team ships reliable, performant software Hire, coach, and grow a strong engineering team that thrives on collaboration, ownership, and continuous learning Manage performance, resolve conflicts, give timely feedback, and ensure engineers are progressing in their careers Evaluate and implement best practices in dev tooling, infrastructure, and processes Own end-to-end delivery of engineering projects, ensuring predictable timelines, quality outcomes, and cross-team alignment Qualifications: 12+ years of overall engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in engineering leadership roles Strong hands-on coding skills in Java and Go Experience scaling engineering teams in fast-growing startups or product companies Deep understanding of modern backend architecture, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), microservices, and CI/CD Passion for developer tools, AI, or productivity-focused platforms is a strong plus Ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic leadership Excellent communication and decision-making skills The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of AI technologies, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs), and demonstrate experience integrating these tools into engineering workflows. Familiarity with implementing and leveraging AI/LLMs to enhance team productivity, solve complex problems, and drive innovation is highly preferred.
