Role Overview

VMware Architect

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years
of experience in
VMware infrastructure design and administration
, with at least
5 years in architect-level roles
.
Proven expertise with:

VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN
VMware NSX-T/NSX-V
VMware HCX (Hybrid Cloud Extension)
VMware Cloud Foundation, Cloud Director, Horizon (VDI)
VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
VMware Aria/vRealize Suite (vRO, vRA, vROps)

Hands-on experience in
large-scale data center migrations and workload transformation projects
.
Strong understanding of
networking (VLANs, DVS, firewalls, load balancers)
and
storage administration (NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE, Pure)
.
Familiarity with
backup/recovery tools
such as
Veeam, Rubrik, Veritas, or Commvault
.
Strong scripting and automation expertise (
PowerCLI, PowerShell, Ansible
).
Good knowledge of
Windows and Linux server administration
.
Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and drive consensus.

Preferred Certifications

VMware Certified Design Expert (
VCDX
) highly desirable
VMware Certified Advanced Professional (
VCAP
) Data Center/Network/Cloud
VMware Certified Professional (
VCP
) DCV, NV, CMA, or DTM
ITIL, TOGAF, or Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/Google) are a plus
