Virtual Builder - Costing Cluster - Project Engineer

As a CSA Estimating Engineer at vConstruct, you will play a crucial role in reviewing design information and quantifying various aspects of construction projects for cost estimation, bid management, and production tracking purposes. Your understanding and experience in Civil, Structural, and Architectural fields, particularly in projects like hospitals, commercial office buildings, hospitality, data centers, biopharmaceutical plants, life sciences, manufacturing, and higher education buildings, will be essential for this role. You will be joining our Costing cluster as a Project Engineer. Key Responsibilities: - Develop high-quality, accurate quantity estimates using CSI Uniformat, Masterformat coding based on drawings, specifications, and models. - Create quantity takeoffs for different trade packages including Civil Hardscape, landscape, structural, Architectural Interiors, Exterior skin, Roofing, etc. - Review project drawings, details, RFIs, models, and other documents to identify discrepancies or missing information. - Utilize 3D Models in processes to enhance quantification and develop 3D models from 2D design drawings. - Understand building systems in detail, rectify missing details, and prepare cost estimates based on Quantity Estimates. - Identify and report changes between different design versions in a clear manner. - Collaborate and communicate effectively with estimators onsite and overseas, aligning on desired outcomes and resolving issues. - Develop workflows and execution plans for new scopes of work or platforms, documenting processes and training team members. - Build and maintain good relationships with onsite teams, customers, and the vConstruct team. - Work on construction estimating scopes beyond core CSA scopes. Requirements and Qualifications: - Bachelor's or master's degree in Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Engineering/Management preferred. - 2 years of working experience in building construction with quantification experience in CSA or MEP. - Familiarity with US, Europe, and Indian Construction Documents and Terminologies. - Knowledge of quantification software like Revit, Assemble, CostX, OST, Planswift desired. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other estimating software. - Strong work ethic, can-do attitude, ability to learn independently, and resolve issues. - Effective team participation with strong listening and communication skills.
