Role Overview

Video Editor

Core Responsibilities & Must-Have Skills

Edit and polish 8–12 min YouTube videos (podcasts, analyses, commentary) for high retention.
Design eye-catching Reels/Shorts with captions, dynamic crops, and hook-first pacing.
Elevate basic assets (photos, screen recordings) using creative borders, kinetic text, transitions, and subtle VFX.
Perform colour correction, audio sweetening, noise clean-up, and basic sound design.
Source B-roll, stock, infographics, and memes that match narrative tone.
Maintain consistent brand style across formats and channels.
Deliver on tight deadlines, iterate quickly on feedback, and manage multiple projects at once.

Qualifications

4-5 years
professional video-editing experience for YouTube or social channels.
Advanced skills in
Premiere Pro
or
DaVinci Resolve
; comfortable with
After Effects
for motion graphics.
Portfolio showing long-form YouTube videos plus short-form vertical edits that demonstrate high viewer engagement.
Strong grasp of pacing, visual storytelling, and audience psychology.
Familiarity with YouTube & Instagram best practices (hooks, retention curves, thumbnail/title synergy).
