- Strong motion graphics and animation skills.
- Ability to edit for different formats with hooks (long-form YouTube videos, short-form reels, ads, client promos).
- Sound design and color grading expertise.
- Storytelling ability—knows how to keep attention, pacing, and emotion aligned with brand goals.
- At least 2-4 years of professional editing experience in agencies, production houses, or freelance with a solid portfolio.
- Proven track record of editing high-performing ads or social media content.
- Experience working with brands across industries (B2B, B2C is a plus).
- Ability to translate briefs into compelling video narratives.
- Understanding of marketing psychology (what hooks audiences, how to structure for retention).
- Keeping up with video trends, transitions, viral formats.
- Comfortable leading junior editors, freelancers, and coordinating with creative directors.
- Strong project management, manages multiple edits under tight deadlines.
