Vice President of Engineering

As the Vice President (VP) of Engineering at one of our portfolio companies, which is Series A funded, you will play a crucial role in defining and executing the engineering roadmap. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the development of scalable and efficient technology solutions, as well as fostering a culture of high performance within the engineering team. Collaboration with the executive leadership team, product managers, and other key stakeholders will be essential to align engineering efforts with the overall business objectives. You will be leading, building, and operating innovative products alongside a dedicated and passionate team. We are seeking a candidate who has a strong background in developing and deploying software with a primary focus on enhancing the end-user experience. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of successfully shipping web-scalable products and building cloud solutions that prioritize consumer experiences while ensuring ease of implementation and reliability. Key Responsibilities also include: - Experience with massively scalable distributed compute product architectures. - Proficiency in microservices-oriented architectures and scaling Big Data infrastructure. - Delivery of platform technology and development of an ecosystem of applications and services across various verticals and solution offerings. - Successful scaling of technology infrastructure to support rapid customer and data growth. - Familiarity with fast-paced, design-forward, product-focused companies and an entrepreneurial mindset focused on teamwork, leadership, and employee mentorship. Qualifications required for this role: - Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years leading a team of 15-20 members. - 8-12 years of experience in building large-scale web applications, with 6+ years of experience as an individual contributor. - Previous experience in domains such as AdTech/MarTech, social media, or eCommerce is preferred. - Experience in scaling engineering teams within high-growth startups, particularly from Series A to later stages. - Strong technical expertise in modern software development, cloud infrastructure, and system architecture. - Proven track record of delivering scalable and reliable technology solutions in dynamic environments. - Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies with a data-driven decision-making approach. - Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities. - A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
