You are a Vegetable and Fruit Purchase Specialist responsible for efficiently managing fresh produce procurement. Your role involves sourcing high-quality fruits and vegetables, negotiating with vendors, ensuring timely deliveries, and optimizing costs to maintain a seamless supply chain and top-quality standards. - Vendor Management: - Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with farmers, wholesalers, and suppliers. - Ensure a reliable procurement network to meet business demands. - Procurement Planning: - Develop and execute procurement strategies based on seasonal demand and market trends. - Ensure a consistent supply of fresh, high-quality produce. - Quality Assurance: - Work closely with the quality control team to ensure compliance with company standards. - Assess product quality and take proactive measures to maintain integrity. - Cost Optimization & Market Analysis: - Negotiate competitive prices while maintaining quality standards. - Monitor market price fluctuations and adjust procurement strategies accordingly. - Conduct market research to identify pricing shifts, emerging trends, and potential new suppliers. - Inventory & Logistics Coordination: - Work with warehouse teams to manage stock levels efficiently and minimize wastage. - Maintain accurate documentation of purchases, stock movements, and supplier details. - Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely transportation and delivery of goods. Qualifications & Skills: - Education: Any degree (Agriculture preferred). - Experience: Minimum 6 months in procurement, supply chain, or related roles (Freshers with relevant experience are welcome). - Technical Skills: Basic understanding of procurement, supply chain management, and agricultural market trends. - Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. - Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot procurement issues and implement solutions under pressure. - Teamwork: Capable of working independently and collaboratively with internal teams. - Local Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the agricultural market in and around Trichy is a plus.
