US Tax Accountant

As a Senior US Tax Accountant at Ashley Furniture, you will be responsible for managing critical tax operations for one of America's largest furniture manufacturers and retailers. Your key responsibilities will include: - Preparing and filing state tax returns, property tax returns, and other indirect taxes along with supporting schedules - Managing state tax returns across multiple jurisdictions where Ashley operates - Demonstrating strong analytical skills by calculating and documenting monthly/quarterly tax provisions and effective tax rates - Monitoring and ensuring compliance with state and local tax regulations - Maintaining tax workpapers and documentation for audit support - Performing tax research and analyzing impacts of new tax laws - Coordinating with external tax advisors and auditors - Managing tax software systems and ensuring data accuracy Qualifications required for this role include: - Education: CA / MBA Finance / M.com / B.com degree in business or related field, or equivalent work experience - Experience: 6 months of tax or finance experience required; Big four articleship experience in indirect tax will be an added advantage; Work experience of US direct/indirect tax compliances will also be beneficial; Work experience of using tax software is preferred You should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: - Ability to read and interpret tax laws - Ability to perform under strong demands in a fast-paced environment - Professional telephone etiquette - Ability to remain calm in difficult situations - Proficiency in document management system - Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement - Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously - Strong teamwork skills - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Excellent interpersonal skills - Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment - Ability to maintain confidentiality - Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) If you believe you have the necessary skill sets and are passionate about this job opportunity, please send your profile to vthulasiram@ashleyfurnitureindia.com.,
