Job Description Job Title : Lead Engineer - Planning Industry : Oil & Gas Location : Site Reports to : Resident Construction Manager Purpose of the position : The Lead Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules, coordinating with various departments and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of engineering, procurement, and construction activities. The role involves analyzing project requirements, identifying critical paths, and implementing strategies to mitigate risks and optimize project timelines. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities (KRA) : Develop project schedules using software like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Prepare executive summaries of contracts, highlighting key points from GCC/SCC/SOR. Maintain registers for drawings, rain, hindrances, and delay analysis. Manage project resources, including materials, manpower, and subcontractors. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor project progress and generate reports (daily/weekly/monthly). Prepare cash flow statements and job cost reports. Evaluate the impact of changes to project scope and resources. Review lessons learned to identify process improvements. Stay updated on industry trends and methodologies. Knowledge / Experience / Skills Required : Must have Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10 to 18 years of experience in Oil & Gas refinery only. Strong experience in project planning and scheduling in Oil & Gas Sector. Must have planning experinece in Piping as well as Structural. Must be a Technical Expert in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and quality.
