Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview

The Planning & QS Engineer will be responsible for project planning, billing, cost estimation, rate analysis, and quantity tracking. The role requires close coordination with project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely billing, accurate planning, and effective monitoring of project progress while adhering to contractual and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities -

• Scrutinize, verify, and certify contractors bills in line with project quantities and agreements.
• Prepare and monitor detailed project schedules using MS Project, ensuring timely tracking and reporting of progress.
• Conduct rate analysis, prepare cost estimates, and track material consumption against budget.
• Raise proactive alerts regarding work requests or amendments in line with work orders and project schedules.
• Maintain records of quantity tracking, reconciliation, and cost reports. Prepare minor drawings in AutoCAD as required by the project team.
• Coordinate with site teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Assist in project planning, budgeting, and progress monitoring at all stages.

Key Result Areas (KRAs) -

• Bill scrutiny and certification ensuring timely completion.
• Planning schedule and tracking – submission of accurate and periodical tracking reports.
• Work request/amendment requests – raising proactive alerts and documentation in line with project schedules.
• Rate analysis and quantity tracking – submission of periodic quantity and reconciliation reports.
• Preparation of minor drawings in AutoCAD as per project requirements.

Computer Skills Required:

• MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• AutoCAD
• MS Project

Desired Candidate Profile -

Qualification:

Diploma in Civil Engineering (DCE) or B.E. in Civil Engineering.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of total experience, with at least 2 years in site execution and the rest in billing and planning functions.

Competencies Required:

• Preparing detailed estimates.
• Reading and interpreting contract conditions.
• Bill verification and certification within master quantities.
• Planning using MS Project software and progress tracking.
• Rate analysis and quantity reconciliation.
• Ability to prepare minor drawings using AutoCAD.
