Job Description

As the Unit Head of Manufacturing Quality at TVS Motor Company's Hosur Plant in Tamil Nadu, your primary responsibility is to consistently achieve and improve quality metrics by adhering to quality systems and procedures through periodic review, implementing improvements, and supporting delivery achievement. Your key responsibilities include: - Monitoring the Unit performance on quality indices, conducting periodical reviews, and taking necessary actions. - Identifying and implementing actions towards improving Vehicle direct pass, Engine rework, painting rework, and scrap cost. - Implementing actions on Customer complaints related to MIW parts (M2, M3, M4, and M5 actions). - Improving the process capability of critical parameters. - Assessing competency and facilitating need-based training to workmen, Team leaders, and Group leaders. - Improving the effectiveness of all employees through their involvement in TEI activities. - Certifying inspectors for appearance inspection. - Approving PPAP and EJO. - Identifying and implementing countermeasures and standardizing for NCRs. - Controlling non-conforming and suspect product. - Validating the risk in concession on part & process (ECF). - Verifying and validating the changes before implementation. - Identifying the Group leaders to participate in alpha. - Reviewing TMOS/QCPC/FMEA updation. Your key performance indicators (KPIs/KRAs) include: - Reducing customer complaints/3M Warrants. - Reducing rejection/rework. - Achieving zero scrap cells/stages. - Improving process capability. - Ensuring control plan adherence. - Improving Vehicle direct pass. - Reducing Engine rework. - Reducing painting rework. - Reducing scrap cost. - Driving TEI QCC/SIT activities. In terms of authority, you are responsible for: - Stopping, correcting, and restarting processes in case of non-conformities. - Making decisions on Rework/Reject/Accept under concession for Non-conforming parts/products. - Approving EJOs to improve delivery, quality, cost & productivity targets. - Approving changes in Control plan, PFMEA, and PPAP standards. - Approving process qualification and entering process parameter levels in QCPC. - Approving ECF for using machines if PM is pending for > 1 month. - Approving ECF under concession for non-conforming products/changes in the process. - Approving the use of Not OK fixture till the target date of action. - Approving workmen leave, movement slip, stores requests. - Approving inspectors" certification. - Assessing the competency of Team leaders and Group leaders. - Conducting performance appraisals of Executives and workmen. - Recommending transfer of workmen, team leader, and group leader across zone/cell within the unit. - Approving RGP for material movement. Your functional competencies include Product Awareness, Manufacturing Process, Manufacturing System, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Measurements & Metrology, Problem Solving, and Project Management. While your behavioral competencies encompass Communication, Interpersonal relationship, Rigor in execution, Personal Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Customer Centricity, Business Acumen, Managing & leading change, and Long-term perspective (planning & strategizing).,
