Unit Head

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of the Rehabilitation Hospital and Transitional Care Unit.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, safe, and evidence-based patient care across inpatient and transitional care services.
  • Oversee clinical and administrative operations, including patient flow, bed management, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives, accreditation standards, and clinical governance frameworks.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nursing staff, and case managers.
  • Ensure effective communication with patients, families, caregivers, and external stakeholders.
  • Drive goal-oriented rehabilitation programs with measurable clinical and functional outcomes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), patient satisfaction scores, and operational metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and hospital policies.
  • Participate in strategic planning, service development, and growth initiatives.
  • Support staff training, performance evaluation, and professional development.

Required Qualifications:

  • MBBS / BHMS / BAMS / Healthcare MBA or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare administration and hospital operations.
  • Formal training or demonstrable experience in quality management and patient safety is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in patient care and/or healthcare administration.
  • Prior experience working in rehabilitation hospitals, transitional care units, acute care hospitals, or clinics is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR), documentation standards, and reporting systems.
  • Basic financial and operational acumen (budgeting, resource utilization, cost control).

Preferred Attributes:

  • Exposure to NABH or other accreditation standards.
  • Experience in process improvement, audits, and clinical protocols.
  • Passion for rehabilitation medicine and continuity-of-care models.
