Job Description

Role & responsibilities 1.Control Room Operations Monitor and control plant parameters through the DCS (Distributed Control System). Execute start-up, loading, and shutdown of boilers, turbines, and auxiliaries. Respond to alarms, analyze abnormal conditions, and take corrective actions. Maintain operational discipline and adhere to SOPs. 2. Commissioning & Start-up Support Work closely with OEMs and EPC teams during commissioning and cold/hot trials. Review and validate control logic, interlocks, and alarm systems. Support synchronization, trial runs, and performance testing of units. Assist in the preparation and review of commissioning and operating procedures. 3. Coordination & Reporting Coordinate with field operators, maintenance, and electrical teams for permits, isolations, and field operations. Log all operating data, events, and parameter changes in shift logs. Prepare daily reports and shift handover documentation. Support LOTO (Lock-Out Tag-Out) and permit-to-work systems. 4. Safety & Compliance Ensure safe operating practices and adherence to safety guidelines. Support environmental compliance by monitoring emissions and effluent parameters. Participate in HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) and toolbox talks. 5. Operational Readiness & Documentation Participate in system walk-downs and punch list clearance. Support readiness of systems for operation including auxiliary and utility systems. Contribute to developing SOPs, checklists, and training materials. Preferred candidate profile Experience in thermal power plant with PF boilers and above 100MW capacity.
