The role The UI/UX Designer is a vital role within the Blenheim Chalcot portfolio. This role is a unique entry point for individuals passionate about design, product thinking, and user experience. As a UI/UX Design Apprentice, you ll gain hands-on exposure to real-world product challenges across BC s diverse portfolio from early-stage startups to scaling ventures. You ll support experienced designers and product managers in creating intuitive, beautiful, and effective user interfaces. Whether it s wireframes, prototypes, or user testing, this role will give you practical training in digital product design in a live startup environment.You will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and progressive environment, where you will support us in building our next generation of GenAI enabled tech businesses List of key responsibilities and duties The UI/UX Design Apprentice will support the digital product and design teams across our ventures and contribute to enhancing customer experience and design output. This role helps bridge design and development, contributing directly to how our ventures look and feel online. The successful apprentice will support UI/UX efforts to: Create wireframes, mockups, and visual assets for websites and apps Assist in user research and usability testing Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, marketing) Maintain and evolve design systems Ensure consistency and accessibility across products Specific duties Depending on the project, you will need to be comfortable doing the following but not limited to: Using tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD to create designs Assisting with user flows, personas, and customer journey mapping Supporting UI/UX audits of existing products Conducting competitor design research Participating in design reviews and feedback sessions Coordinating with developers to hand over design assets Contributing to A/B testing design variations and gathering user feedback About you The ideal candidate will have a track-record in delivering results in a fast-moving business and hence be comfortable with change and uncertainty. Excellent stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role. List of qualifications, technical and or professional experience Passion for user experience and digital design Basic proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma, Canva, Adobe XD) Willingness to learn user research and design thinking techniques Attention to detail and good visual judgment Effective communication and collaboration skills Curious, empathetic, and user-oriented Open to feedback and iterative work Familiarity with web/mobile UI patterns is a plus
