Role Overview: You will be responsible for reporting and analyzing hedging relationships, identifying potential hedge accounting opportunities, and implementing effective hedging strategies to mitigate accounting asymmetry risk. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement effective hedge accounting strategies that support the bank's risk management framework, adjusting as needed to maintain hedge effectiveness and respond to market changes. - Assess potential hedge accounting relationships between financial instruments, considering factors such as effectiveness, designation, and hedge ratio. - Prepare and maintain comprehensive hedge accounting documentation, including hedge designation reports, effectiveness testing results, and fair value measurements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. - Conduct fair value measurements for financial instruments, including hedged and hedging instruments, using appropriate valuation methodologies and calculate hedge accounting adjustments. - Manage regular effectiveness testing of hedging relationships, evaluate the effectiveness of hedging strategies, and adjust as needed. - Report the internal and external statutory view of hedge accounting effectiveness for presentation in Barclays Annual Accounts. Qualifications Required: - Possess strong knowledge and skills in hedge accounting and risk management. - Experience in fair value measurements and accounting standards compliance. - Ability to collaborate with other functions and business divisions. - Strong leadership skills if in a leadership position, or ability to lead collaborative assignments as an individual contributor. - Proficiency in analyzing complex data and communicating information effectively. - Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
