Trainer - Commis Chef

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Commis Chef Trainer with NSQF certification to train, mentor, and develop junior chefs and culinary staff. The ideal candidate will combine strong culinary skills with the ability to deliver structured, competency-based training aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).

Number of Positions (Per Location): 10

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct training sessions for commis chefs and culinary trainees in line with NSQF standards.
• Develop lesson plans, training materials, and assessments for practical and theoretical culinary skills.
• Monitor trainee progress, provide feedback, and maintain performance records.
• Ensure kitchen practices adhere to hygiene, safety, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef to introduce new techniques, recipes, and menu updates.
• Demonstrate and reinforce professional kitchen behaviors, time management, and teamwork.
• Evaluate and certify trainees based on NSQF competency levels.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• NSQF Certification as a Chef/Commis Chef Trainer (Mandatory)
• Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a commis chef; prior training experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and presentation techniques.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to motivate trainees and foster a positive learning environment.
• Familiarity with NSQF competency levels and assessment methodology.
