Trade Compliance Specialist

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Pharma Solutions team as a Trade Compliance Specialist. As a Trade Compliance Specialist, your focus will be to manage import and export activities to fully comply with local and global regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures in an efficient and effective manner. This role is Mumbai, India-based and will report to the Senior Manager, Regional Trade Asia Pacific. Your responsibilities will include understanding local and international trade-related laws and regulations, overseeing and communicating regulatory changes with the development of best practices, providing trade-related advice to the business on a daily basis, leading communication with local Customs when required, supporting business projects, driving cost savings through customs duty savings, leading internal and external trade-related audits in India, conducting training for internal customers, monitoring, tracking, and reporting India import and export metrics, managing customs brokers, and connecting with the Global Trade team. To be successful in this role, you will need a Master's or Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Logistics, or a relevant discipline, at least 5 years of experience in import and export operations, good experience in SAP, project management experience (preferred), proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), excellent communication skills (verbal and written), the ability to work well in a team with high ethical standards, strong problem-solving skills, openness to change, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The Pharma Solutions business is entering its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for the pharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will position Pharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide. The sale is expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and will then transition to Roquette.
