SUMMARY Job Opening: Traction System Engineer Company: Leading comprehensive mobility solution provider with a strong presence in India and Italy. Location: Bangalore Purpose of the Job: The Traction System Engineer is responsible for defining the architecture and full functionality of traction drives and auxiliary systems to achieve the required train performance. Responsibilities: Lead propulsion design and development, review requirements and technical specifications Define propulsion architecture and functionality, and interfaces with other subsystems Design and size components such as inductors, capacitors, resistors, contactors, etc. Prepare system specifications for different products, perform cost analysis, and evaluate propulsion systems, products, and sub-contractors Generate engineering reports & documentation, prepare main & functional circuit diagrams Prepare system and performance calculations, support prototyping & prototype testing activities Work with customers/vendors to meet project requirements Define complete validation and verification for the traction and auxiliary system Get involved in commissioning (=fine tuning) of the traction and aux system on the train Specialized or cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required: Propulsion system design inclusive of relevant standards Converter design principles Dimensioning of propulsion system components Functional circuit diagrams Calculation of train & propulsion system performance inclusive of harmonics and EMC Dimensioning and selection of semiconductor devices Product Safety as per EN 50126, 50128 & 50129 Design and development Tools, viz. E3, EBase, PDM, TEP, Fahrtemp, MS Office & Good understanding of quality assurance and procurement processes Education: BTech or MTech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics / Power Electronics or equivalent Requirements Requirements: Proven experience as a Traction System Engineer or similar role In-depth knowledge of propulsion system design and relevant standards Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics / Power Electronics or equivalent
